Bukayo Saka has shrugged off comparisons between himself and Kylian Mbappe – “one of the best players in the world” – ahead of England’s World Cup quarter-final meeting with France on Saturday.
Mbappe showed his devastating pace and precision in France’s 3-1 win over Poland in the round of 16 on Sunday, grabbing a brace to sit alone at the top of the World Cup scoring charts on five goals.
While Saka admitted that he would like to emulate Mbappe by winning the young player of the tournament award – as the Frenchman did at the previous World Cup – the 21-year-old added that winning the tournament is his only priority.
