Karim Benzema has signed the deal until 2026 with an option to further extend. The move to Al-Ittihad means that Benzema will face his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for rivals Al Nassr, in the Saudi Pro League.

“I am excited to experience a new football league.” Benzema said after signing with the club for an undisclosed fee.

Without disclosing details of the deal or Benzema’s salary, the club said in a statement that Benzema had undergone a medical examination and completed the signing in Madrid on Monday.

“I am excited to experience a new football league in a different country. I have been fortunate to achieve amazing things in my career and achieve everything I can in Spain and Europe. It now feels the time is right for a new challenge and project.” the Ballon d’Or holder said.

According to reports, Al Ittihad is close to signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, whose contract is set to expire at the end of this month. Kante has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with the Saudi giants to play in the middle east.
