Luis Suarez has dismissed suggestions he could reunited with fellow former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
After defeating Al-Hilal and Blaugrana in the race to sign Messi, Inter Miami wants to recruit two former teammates of the Argentine striker, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets. In particular, Suarez is currently playing for Brazil’s Gremio, and Busquets is in free form after just leaving the Nou Camp.
But Suarez quickly quelled the rumors. The striker ‘rabbit tooth’ insists he is happy at Gremio and respects the contract with the Brazilian league team.
Speaking to Uruguay’s El Observador, Suarez said: “The rumor is untrue. None of that happened. I am happy at Gremio and I have a contract until 2024.”
With Suarez refusing, Inter Miami only has the opportunity to recruit Sergio Busquets. This possibility is easy to happen because the Spanish midfielder has not yet accepted any club after leaving Barca. But MLS representatives have to compete with Al-Nassr because Ronaldo’s team has offered a salary of £ 16 million a year for Busquets.
Meanwhile, Messi will earn £ 43 million / year at Inter Miami, equivalent to £ 830,000 / week. Beckham’s team pays only part of the World Cup winner’s salary, the rest is paid by Adidas and Apple.
