Frank Lampard is not expecting to stay on as part of the coaching staff of expected new Chelsea head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and has delivered a warning about the work that lies ahead.

Frank Lampard confirms Chelsea future

Last night (May 21), speaking after the 0-1 loss to Man City, interim coach Frank Lampard said he would not continue to stick with Chelsea when the 2022-23 season ends. “Are not! I’m sure the new coach will come and bring his own set.”

Earlier, many sources suggested that Lampard could stay at Chelsea to take up a position on the coaching staff under the new coach’s reign.

After sacking Graham Potter, Chelsea immediately appointed Frank Lampard as interim coach. However, Super Frankie could not revive Chelsea when losing 7/9 matches in power, thereby making the team sink in 12th place in the rankings.

In recent times, British media have confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino has reached an agreement to lead Chelsea from next season. It is known that the Argentine military leader will sign a three-year contract with the Blues and is about to fly to London to finalize the final agreements.

For his part, coach Lampard also reminded Chelsea players to do their best if they want to revive the club after a disappointing season.

“It depends entirely on the players. Chelsea have a lot of talented players and they will have to try their best if they want to bring Chelsea back to the top, ” added Lampard.

With 12th place on the rankings, Chelsea no longer has the opportunity to participate in the European Cup next season. In the remaining 2 matches, coach Frank Lampard’s teachers and students will face 2 opponents in the top 4, Man Utd and Newcastle.
