Casemiro suspension, Ten Hag no regrets

Erik Ten Hag insists Man Utd beat Arsenal without Casemiro in the squad.

Casemiro suspension, Ten Hag no regrets

Erik ten Hag had no regrets about playing Casemiro in Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

In the match of round 7 of the Premier League this morning, Man Utd was held by Crystal Palace with a score of 1-1. This is a rather unfortunate result for the Red Devils when they were equalized by the opponent in injury time.

Not only dropping points at Selhurst Park, MU also suffered a loss of personnel because Casemiro was warned by the referee at the end of the game. This is Casemiro’s fifth yellow card in the Premier League this season, so the Brazilian midfielder will be suspended for the match against Arsenal at the weekend.

This is a big loss for Man Utd because Casemiro has quickly proven an important role in Ten Hag’s squad since arriving at Old Trafford.

However, sharing on SkySport after the match, coach Ten Hag is still very optimistic. He claims to have beaten Arsenal without Casemiro in the squad.

“The last game against Arsenal we won without Casemiro. Casemiro is of course a very important player for us. He is one of the factors that helped us get where we are now.

But we have a squad. I plan to fill this position. As a team, we showed how to beat Arsenal,” coach Ten Hag said after the draw with Crystal Palace.

“I think this is an instinctive situation. He lost the ball and was forced to foul. Otherwise, it could be a dangerous situation. That’s how he reacted. I think we will have a way to beat Arsenal without Casemiro,” added the Dutchman.

Up to this point in the 2022-23 Premier League, Man Utd is the only team to beat Arsenal. In that match, Casemiro was on the bench. He was only launched by coach Ten Hag at the end of the game.
